With the suddenly critical role of online education, our heroic teachers will likely need to rely on the heretofore underutilized TEACH Act. Enacted in 2002, the TEACH Act added to copyright law an exemption to copyright infringement for distant transmission of copyrighted materials under certain limited conditions designed to balance the interests of content owners with the goals of distance education.
