The AGO is a visually stunning museum space designed by Canadian-American architect Frank Gehry (AGO photo to the left) with a permanent collection of works spanning the medieval period to contemporary art.
A major highlight is its collection of Canadian landscape painting by artists of the Group of Seven including Lawren Harris, A. Y. Jackson, and J. E. H. MacDonald, along with paintings by Emily Carr.
The museum also maintains important collections of Indigenous art by Canadian First Nations, Inuit, and Métis artists.”
